Winter Wedding Bouquets
June July and August

Winter, especially late winter, actually brings us many of the flowers we associate with spring, bunches and bunches of fragrant ‘Earlicheer’ Daffodils, gorgeous ‘paper white’ Jonquils, Dutch Iris, Hyacinths and Freesias.

*Double and single Tulips, Parrot Tulips.

* Helleborus flowers, also known as the ‘winter rose’ it looks like a white or burgundy primrose and in its green form creates the ‘country bunch’ look.

*Cymbidium orchids, how lucky are we that we have special orchids that flower all winter long and yet are so beautiful ands last incredibly well, colour range is white, palest to dark pink, red, lime to yellow green, yellow, gold, burgundy and all the in between colours, in their mini or large forms are just sensational!.

* Violets ( Viola species) As the name suggests these sweet violets are rich purple blue in colour and have a perfume unlike any other flower !!,so sweet and tantalizing they bottle it!! Naturally with short stems they are traditionally carried in tight posies surrounded by their own leaves, this is a beautiful choice for flower girls and junior bridesmaids.

* French Lavender, ( Lavandula dentate) also traditionally carried in tight posies or mixed with other small flowers to create a country style bunch.

* Stock, not usually used in wedding bouquets unless individually wired florets, most often massed together for the church and reception bowls to tantalize the senses and set the theme, in white, cream, pink mauve and purple.

* Geraldton Wax, the new hybrids of these west Australian flowers are so lush and delicate on their own or in mixed bouquets.

* Kale, these are not really flowers, they are really ornamental cabbages but if you like a modern style try with mini cumquats and tiny apples which are sometimes available.
